Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Officer to join our finance team. In this full-time role, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager and the Accounting Office to manage day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate records, and support commercial decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process and record all financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, and journal entries.
  • Maintain general ledgers, cash books, and bank books accurately.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager to track project budgets, client invoicing, and collection status.
  • Provide timely financial data to support client contracts and vendor negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all transactions and support internal/external audits.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting Office to ensure alignment with company policies and accounting standards.

Qualifiations

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce (B.Com/BBA), or related field. MBA/M.Com or CA/ACCA partial qualification is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience in an accounting role; experience in a software, IT, or service-based company is preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work under pressure.
  • English proficiency is a MUST (Foreign stakeholder collaboration).
  • Must be able to leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, or AI-powered accounting assistants) to automate invoice processing, reconcile transactions faster, and improve overall financial reporting efficiency.
  • Knowledge of VAT and Tax regulations in Bangladesh.
  • Experience with intercompany transactions or project-based accounting.
